I began my pursuit in art as a teenager. Loving to draw and paint at an early age, I always knew I wanted to pursue a career in some area of art. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a minor in Advertising Design in 1975 from Utah State University. My early professional career was spent as a freelance illustrator in Los Angeles and in graphic arts as an art director and computer retoucher. After retiring, I have focused on fine art.
I discovered soft pastels in 2011 and love their ability to depict light filled images. I work in oil, acrylic and pastel and love painting landscapes in an impressionistic style. I also enjoy painting animals and people. One of my pastel landscapes was an award winner in the 2018 “This is Colorado” Show, I received an Honorable Mention in 2022 at the Members Show and I received 1st Place in the 2023 Members Show, Associate member
I have been a member of the Art Students League of Denver, participating in classes and drawing studios. I am a member of the Pastel Society of Colorado and will be Co-President of PSC in 2024.
