DEMO: “Starting Strong” with Jen Starling
As artists we can learn from and be inspired by many forms of art expression. This season we will be treated to artists employing various media with experience and insights to share that transcend the boundaries of single a medium. Jen will demo a portrait in oil.
Jen Starling focused seriously on ballet and modern dance throughout her childhood and adult life. She has a B.A. in Performance Art from the University of Maryland. Starling discovered painting at age 40, but no stranger to discipline, she has dedicated herself to a demanding studio practice, studying with master painters, showing her work, and teaching at the Art Student League of Denver. In addition, she is passionate about providing affordable art education on Patreon with fellow artist Daniel Sprick. Finally, she has won awards from The Portrait Society of America, Plein Air Salon, Modern Impressionist Magazine, and Oil Painters of America. Her work has been published in International Artist Magazine, Plain Air Magazine, American Art Collector, and Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine.
This will be the first in a Spring series focusing on fundamental skills and mastery of elements needed for creating a successful painting.
