Convincing Greens: Painting Lush Landscapes with Xenia Sease
Saturday, August 22, 2026 · 9:00 AM–12:00 PM MT
11 AM ET | 10 AM CT | 9 AM MT | 8 AM PT
Our August Paint-Along features Colorado artist Xenia Sease.
Greens are rarely just green. Join Xenia as she explores the full potential of green pastels and demonstrates how to manipulate temperature, chroma, and tonal value to create lush landscapes that radiate life. She will also share practical techniques for suggesting form, foliage, grass, and atmospheric perspective to create a convincing sense of place.
Participants will work from an instructor-provided landscape reference while creating their own interpretation under Xenia’s guidance. She will demonstrate two small paintings of the same scene—one using a warmer palette and one using a cooler palette—to show how subtle shifts in color relationships can dramatically change the mood and character of a landscape.
Mixed / all levels welcome. A recording will be provided to registrants following the session.
