Location: Central City Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026 Address: Upper Apex Road near Central City, CO Time: 9 am – 12 pm Fee: free. Meet at Central City Cemetery https://centralcity.colorado.gov Description: Historic city or cemetery west of town. Victorian architecture in town, cemetery features historic headstones, mountain views, colorful aspen trees

Location: Castlewood Canyon State Park Date: Saturday, August 15, 2026 Address: 2989 CO-83, Franktown, CO 80116 Time: 9 am – 12 pm Fee: State Park pass (free) or vehicle day pass $10. Meet at the Visitor Center at the EAST end of the park.  https://cpw.state.co.us/state-parks/castlewook-canyon-state-park Description: Dramatic canyon scenery, large rocks, gnarly trees, wildlife and bird viewing. 

Location: Staunton State Park Date: Saturday, July 18, 2026 Address: 12102 S Elk Creek Rd, Pine, CO 80470 Time: 9 am – 12 pm Fee: State Park pass (free) or vehicle day pass $10. Meet in the Meadow Parking lot by the kiosk. Drive past the pay station, keeping to the right, past the covered group area to Meadow Parking lot. https://cpw.state.co.us/state-parks/staunton-state-park Description: Views of Lion’s head, granite rocks, forests, meadows, some old cabins a short drive from Meadow Park lot.

Location: Sawhill Ponds (NOT Walden!) Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026 Address: 3400 75th Street, Boulder, CO 80301 Time: 9 am – 12 pm Fee: free. Meet by the bathrooms, west side of parking lot. https://bouldercolorado.gov/traihead/sawhill-ponds Description: Wildlife preserve and trail system. Multiple ponds, abundant birdlife (herons and eagles), scenic views of Flatirons

Park along Buffalo Rd adjacent to East Trailhead or in the East Trailhead parking lot. Carpool if possible. Meet in the East Trailhead pk lot. https://www.jeffco.us/980/Alderfer-Three-Sisters-Park Description: Large rocks/boulders; unique, gnarly trees; a meadow with a path leading through a field of wildflowers.

Location: Downtown Morrison Date: Saturday, Mar 21, 2026 Address: Morrison, CO Time: 10 am – 1 pm Fee: Paid parking Meet in the public parking lot across from La Rocca Rossa restaurant, by the “parking-pay-here” sign. https://www.morrisonco.us Description: Charming downtown area with shops and restaurants. Creek view off rec path. Red Rocks and Morrison Park nearby.

Location: Barr Lake Visitor and Nature Center Date: Saturday, Feb 21, 2026 Address: 13401 Picadilly Rd, Brighton, CO 80603 Time: 10 am – 1 pm Fee: State Park pass (free) or vehicle day pass $10. Meet at the Nature Center at the SOUTH parking lot. https://cpw.state.co.us/state-parks/barr-lake-state-park Description: Wildlife refuge. Scenery, lake, wildlife, birds. Views of the Rocky Mt. range. Some trails leading to viewing platforms. Bald eagles nest at the lake every winter. 

Location: Littleton History Museum Date: Saturday, Jan 24th, 2026 Address: 6028 S. Gallup St, Littleton, CO 80120 Time: 10 am – 1 pm Fee: Free. Parking lot in front Meet in the parking lot. www.museum.littletonco.gov Description: Walk through museum to see living farm. Livestock, farm equipment, buildings, tools, etc. You are required to text your RSVP to 503.956.0130 (Karen Morjig) or 970.593.2767 (Sue Fody) by end of day Friday before the paint out. Paint outs will be cancelled if the temperature at the location is below 35, its is snowing or raining or windy.
