He continued his studies in Visual Arts at Penn State University. After moving to Colorado in 2012, he became enthralled by the vast terrains of Colorado and the American West. As an avid backpacker, his paintings soon became the embodiment of his backcountry excursions.

Demo: PSC welcomes Leslie Trujillo-Batts, a Colorado Springs-based pastel artist whose work will be familiar from her many award-winning works seen in the Mile High Exhibition (see an example here). Leslie is a Signature Member of Pastel Society of America, and Pikes Peak Pastel Society and has been featured in Pastel Journal’s Pastel 100. Leslie typically spends 40-50 hours completing a painting. For her demo, she will show, using a work in progress, how to capture dramatic lighting in a still life using tight technique.
