Jennifer has won numerous awards in local, regional, and national exhibitions and has taught painting and other art for many years. She is currently represented by Mary Williams Fine Arts in Boulder, CO; Redstone Art Gallery in Redstone, CO and The Golden Bough in Basalt, CO.
Jennifer paints in various mediums – but is most at home, outside with nature and her paints. “I prefer painting from life – en plein air. Painting is exploring and discovering, healing and learning, admiring and preserving. As a painting takes on its own voice, it becomes a living experience with each brushstroke a breath toward its creation. I love to paint and I hope that my artwork communicates the experiences that I have and captures the very essence of the beautiful world through my eyes and interpretation.”
The Demo will be :Working with Color Harmonies
We have so many tools to pick and choose from as an artist, and color is but one of them. While each of us may personalize our color preference to our own style, as we should, we may want to revisit some of the color harmonies so that we can more comfortably use these in our compositions. We will discuss contrast, value, saturation, etc. as we consider our color choices in a painting. My demo will use these same ideas and a color harmony to bring these concepts together. At the meeting, we’ll be having a creative mixed-media paint-along. We’ll provide paper and other miscellaneous supplies. Artists need to bring a small amount of pastels and pastel pencils if you have them. Bring a variety of warm and cool colors and darks and lights.
