PSC 2019 Member Show: "Dreaming in Color"

May 15 - June 22, 2019


Dreaming In Color, is the theme for the PSC 2019 Member Show. Pastel paints are recognized for their diverse range of color...colors that can be vibrant or subtle, soft or hard. This show provides you an opportunity to experiment with your choice of color as you create your own personal interpretation of a landscape, still life, abstract or figure. It is up to you...dream in color.


This show is not juried. Each artist submitting work will have their work in the show, within reason.

Awards Judge: Bev Lee

Colorado Artist, Bev Lee, will be the judge for the PSC 2019 Members Show. Bev is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, a Master Signature member of the Pastel Society of Colorado, and a Master Circle Member of IAPS.


Our Judge is Bev Lee

Bev is inspired by light and color when painting. Still life and people are often her favorite subjects, although she also enjoys painting animals. Her distinctive style captures the emotion of her subjects in a painterly realistic way.


While Bev studied at Mesa State College (now Colorado Mesa University), she is basically self taught. Bev has studied in workshops offered by Doug Dawson, Terry Ludwig, Xiang Zhang and Daniel Greene. She paints in both pastel and oils using a style and technique of layering on of rich vibrant color.


Bev has been juried into numerous competitions, receiving many awards including "Best of Show" and "People's Choice." Her paintings can be found in both private and corporate collections throughout the country. Bev has been featured and her works published in the Pastel Artist International, the Artist Magazine, the International Artist Magazine and the Pastel Journal. Two of her paintings have been in the top 100 in the Pastel Journal. Her book, Painting Children secrets to capturing childhood moments, is available through North Light Books/Fw publications. Bev is one of 40 artists featured in the North Light book, Sketchbook Confidential.

Entry Fee:

Up to two (2) Pastel paintings may be submitted at a fee of $25.00. The entry fee is non-refundable and paid at the time of entry.

Entry deadline: March 16, 2019 at Midnight.

The “Dreaming In Color” PSC Member Show 2019 is open to any pastel artist 18 years of age or older.

The PSC Exhibition Policy includes:


Entry to the Member Show, “Dreaming In Color,” gives the PSC permission to use the images for reference, printed materials, and online postings, as well as future advertising.

Make sure your information and the artwork information is correct, as well as pricing. This information will be used for labels when hanging the show.


Directions for entering Dreaming In Color Member Show:

  1. Complete the entire form below. Be sure everything with a red * is filled out. Hover your mouse over the form question to see a pop up set of instructions to the right.
  3. The images must be formatted according to the following specifications:
  4. File Format: jpg (jpeg only)
  5. FILE DIMENSIONS: The image should be 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi, sRGB color space.
  6. Name the jpg file: The file must be labeled with the first four (4) letters of your last name, the first four (4) letters of your first name, and the entry number (i.e., David Jones 1st entry - the image file would be JONEDAVI1.jpeg, the 2nd entry would be JONEDAVI2.jpeg).
  7. BROWSE TO FIND YOUR IMAGES TO ATTACH THEM TO THE ENTRY FORM. Note: you will not see the images, just the filenames.
  8. Check that everything is filled out correctly.

  10. Wait for the images to upload and for the form to take you to PayPal and ENTER YOUR PAYMENT INFORMATION.





The image size is no smaller than 8” on the shortest side.





West Slope members will take the artwork to the Art Center on the drop off date May 13, 2019, 10:00am-2:00pm.

Front range members will make arrangements with their local representative and show co-chairs to deliver artwork to the Art Center on the drop off date May 13, 2019, 10:00am-2:00pm.

The delivery dates for shipped work is the week prior to May 6, 2019. Ship work to Western Colorado Center for the Arts, 1803 North 7th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81501, Attention: Matt Jones, Curator, Programs and Exhibitions, 970.243.7337, ext. 6. Include the name of the artist, address, phone number, email, title of painting, the price, on the back of the painting. Please pack work carefully and include a pre-paid return shipping label and insure it adequately. The artist will be contacted if the work arrives damaged so that arrangements can be made to repair or re-frame. Artists are responsible for the cost of repair or re-frame and will be billed directly by the framer. Make sure to include a return shipping label as PSC is not responsible for payment of the return shipment.

All artwork submitted must be for sale.

There will be a 20% commission retained by The Art Center. The Art Center will handle all sales and sales tax. Sales will be reconciled at the end of the show. Artists will be paid their commission checks by the 15th day of the month following the close of the show.



Utmost care will be taken in handling the entries. However, neither PSC nor the venue, The Art Center, are responsible for loss or damage. The cost of insurance is the artist’s responsibility.
