Dreaming In Color, is the theme for the PSC 2019 Member Show. Pastel paints are recognized for their diverse range of color...colors that can be vibrant or subtle, soft or hard. This show provides you an opportunity to experiment with your choice of color as you create your own personal interpretation of a landscape, still life, abstract or figure. It is up to you...dream in color.
This show is not juried. Each artist submitting work will have their work in the show, within reason.

Awards Judge: Gary Huber
Wyoming artist, Gary Huber, was raised in Pennsylvania Dutch country where he painted at a young age with his mother. A scientific career took him to Denver, then he moved north to Wyoming, inspired by the outdoors to return to painting. Gary transitioned to mainly pastel painting, creating a unique style that is often mistaken for oil. His paintings reflect a unique sense of composition and light. Recently his focus is on the interaction of light and atmosphere. Gary has accrued numerous awards and his work is featured in collections across the United States. He is a Master Signature member of the Pastel Society of Colorado, recipient of the Master Circle Medallion from IAPS, a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, Pastel Society of the West Coast, and the Northwest Pastel Society, and a Member of the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters and the California Art Club.

Up to two (2) Pastel paintings may be submitted at a fee of $25.00. The entry fee is non-refundable and paid at the time of entry.
Entry deadline: March 16, 2019 at Midnight.
$750+ in cash awards. All awards are made at the discretion of our judge. All awards will be final.
The “Dreaming In Color” PSC Member Show 2019 is open to any pastel artist 18 years of age or older.
The PSC Exhibition Policy includes:
Entry to the Member Show, “Dreaming In Color,” gives the PSC permission to use the images for reference, printed materials, and online postings, as well as future advertising.
Make sure your information and the artwork information is correct, as well as pricing. This information will be used for labels when hanging the show.

FRAMING AND PRESENTATION:
The image size is no smaller than 8” on the shortest side.
DELIVERY OF WORK:
West Slope members will take the artwork to the Art Center on the drop off date May 13, 2019, 10:00am-2:00pm.
Front range members will make arrangements with their local representative and show co-chairs to deliver artwork to the Art Center on the drop off date May 13, 2019, 10:00am-2:00pm.
The delivery dates for shipped work is the week prior to May 6, 2019. Ship work to Western Colorado Center for the Arts, 1803 North 7th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81501, Attention: Matt Jones, Curator, Programs and Exhibitions, 970.243.7337, ext. 6. Include the name of the artist, address, phone number, email, title of painting, the price, on the back of the painting. Please pack work carefully and include a pre-paid return shipping label and insure it adequately. The artist will be contacted if the work arrives damaged so that arrangements can be made to repair or re-frame. Artists are responsible for the cost of repair or re-frame and will be billed directly by the framer. Make sure to include a return shipping label as PSC is not responsible for payment of the return shipment.

All artwork submitted must be for sale.
There will be a 20% commission retained by The Art Center. The Art Center will handle all sales and sales tax. Sales will be reconciled at the end of the show. Artists will be paid their commission checks by the 15th day of the month following the close of the show.
Utmost care will be taken in handling the entries. However, neither PSC nor the venue, The Art Center, are responsible for loss or damage. The cost of insurance is the artist’s responsibility.
