Regular Membership Form

Annual membership dues to the Pastel Society of Colorado is $30 if you choose to receive the newsletter electronically and $36 to have the newsletter mailed to you via the US Postal Service. Note: the newsletters can also be accessed online here.

Dues paid after October first will automatically extend membership through the end of the following year.

You may either download and print a membership form or, if you're a new member, fill out and submit the following online form. Either way, mail your check (made out to PASTEL SOCIETY OF COLOADO) to:

Signature Membership

What is a PSC Signature Member?
A Signature Member is a Pastel Society of Colorado member in good standing whose award-winning skills, nationally accepted experience, and creative vision is such that their pastel work could represent the Pastel Society of Colorado. Signature Members have the prestige of adding PSC after their name when signing works.

How could I become a Signature Member?
Members must attain a specific number of points within a time frame by meeting a combination of qualifications listed below. An exhibition is defined as a juried competition. Annual competitions will be counted separately each year so long as they have different jurors. Sales venues (i.e. festivals, fairs, galleries, and purchase awards) will not be counted in this point system, however the PSC Board of Directors has the right to consider some juried festivals. A single painting can earn no more than two points total. A maximum of two points may be earned per exhibition. Applications will be considered on an individual basis.

One point equals:

  • Acceptance of a pastel painting into a national or international Juried Exhibition or Competition
  • Winning an award with a pastel painting at a national or international Juried Exhibition or Competition
  • Winning an award with a pastel painting at a state or regional Juried Exhibition or Competition
  • Winning an award with a pastel painting in Pastel Society of Colorado Members-Only Show

Signature Membership points may be obtained within two different time frames. After accumulating points, artists may choose either option at the time of mailing the completed application.

Option 1

  • A total of 5 points must be earned in at least 4 different exhibitions within any consecutive 7-year period.
  • Points begin to accrue as of January 2000 or whenever a member wishes to start counting thereafter.

Option 2

  • A total of 15 points are earned within an unspecified amount of time.
  • Points begin to accrue as of January 2000 and continue thereafter.

Those who have attained a PSC Signature Membership from previous criteria will remain with that status without further documentation. Honorary Signature Memberships may be awarded on an individual basis at the discretion of the PSC Board of Directors.

Signature Member applicants must be members while earning all points. Once approved Signature Members must continue membership or Signature Membership is lost.

How do I apply for Signature Membership?

  1. Fill out and sign application form (432 K, PDF).
  2. Artists must show documentation of proof of acceptance or awards. Documentation may include letters of acceptance, catalog/ribbon, publication or program. Provide photocopies of documentation on 8½” x 11" paper with name of show, date, any award certificate, and other material necessary to verify. Please highlight requested information.
  3. Please include membership information (copies of pages of Members Directory) IF possible with application.
  4. One time Processing Fee of $10.00 with checks made out to Pastel Society of Colorado.
  5. Please send all applications directly to:

  6. Information will be verified by the Signature Membership Chair and sent to the PSC Board of Directors to approve.

Master Signature Membership

How do I apply for Master Signature Membership?

Fill out, sign and mail in a Master Signature Membership Application Form (420 K, PDF).

Master Signature Criteria

  1. PSC Signature Membership must be attained first.
  2. All points must be earned after Signature Membership and while a paid member of PSC.
  3. Total points must equal 12 from criteria listed below.  Application fee is 25.00.
  4. MANDATORY four points MUST be from service to the PSC. One point each up to four points. 
    1. Chair or co-chair of a show (2 POINTS PER TIME PER 2 YEAR TERM)
    2. Service on Board (2 POINTS PER 2 YEAR TERM)
    3. Demo to PSC (2 POINTS EACH TIME PER OCCURRENCE)
    4. Presentation to PSC (2 POINTS PER ACTIVITY)
    5. Teaching or chairing a workshop for the Society (2 POINTS PER OCCURRENCE)
  5.  Up to three points for paintings accepted into PSC National Show ( 1 POINT PER PAINTINGS PER SHOW)
  6. Award points for National Shows (any juried national show).  3 points for first, 2 for second, 1 for any other award. (FOR PASTEL PAINTINGS)
  7. Up to two points for entry into any other National Pastel Society Show.  One per painting. (FOR PASTEL PAINTINGS ACCEPTED INTO SHOWS)
  8. Up to two points for acceptance to an IAPS exhibition or competition or award.
  9. Up to two points for any written feature or image in a national art magazine, (NOT advertising).
