Tanya Travis is a Grand Junction pastel artist and Occupational Therapist. "The blend of art and science keeps me well integrated. The brain acts like a huge synthesizer, and the more I can diversify my activities and thoughts, the more creative I can be. Art is reflective of some dynamic action, a study of geology, or the human form. It doesn't spring out of an artbox." Tanya has taught drawing and pastel painting through the Boulder City Recreation Department, the Colorado Mountain College Campus in Carbondale and Glenwood Springs as well as through the Western Colorado center for the arts. She originally commissioned portraits through her studio in Carbondale but now enjoys the diversity of landscapes that surround her home in Grand Junction, Colorado.
