I don’t remember a time when I was not drawing or painting. From the time I was a little girl, the world has always appeared to me as a series of paintings. I imagined brush strokes. I mixed color in my mind’s eye and mentally arranged scenery into wonderful compositions. Strangers became imaginary models as I posed them and watched shadows change shape when they moved. Photography enabled me to extend this technique with lenses, filters, and film. Capturing light and shadow is my passion.
I work en plein air as well as in the studio, often beginning a piece with studies on site to capture the freshness of the scene and then finishing it in the studio. I have studied art at the University of Colorado at Denver, the Denver Art Museum, the Art Students League, and with a number of national and local artists. I am a signature member of the Colorado Watercolor Society, Colorado Pastel Society and numerous guilds. My work has shown in juried international and national exhibitions, has received a many awards as well as recognition in national publications. Both my fine art and photography are in corporate and private collections across the country.
