Mary Erickson studied art at Wichita State Univeristy. Since putting down her first stroke with pastel, she became "hooked" on this medium. Mary finds that the richness of pastels best conveys the visual image she attempts to impart. She has taken numerous workshops and classes since moving to Grand Junction. Her instructors have included Doug Dawson, Albert Handell, Sally Strand, and Charles Hardy. Mary is a charter member of the Pastel Society of Colorado and has been active in this organization, serving as treasurer, public relations representative, program chairwoman, and workshop chairwoman.
