7th Annual Mile High International Exhibition

"Music" by Cherie Nobilette was awarded Best of Show.

Best of Show

Here are the other award winners and their paintings...

Entries are all in for the Mile High International! (deadline was June 16)

81 artists entered the show, and an outstanding variety of 190 paintings were submitted. Of the 81, 64 are from Colorado and the other 17 from 10 other states.

We are honored to have Richard McKinley as the juror this year. The entries are in his hands now, and notification letters will go out just after July 5 (the prospectus listed July 5, however we are allowing Richard a couple more days due to his heavy schedule).

Thank you to all who entered! Having viewed each image when processing these entries, this is going to be a fabulous show! As a reminder, the opening reception is August 20 at Curtis Arts & Humanities Center. There will be additional information on our website by mid July. Please watch for that!

PASTEL SOCIETY OF COLORADO'S 2011 MEMBER'S SHOW

This years members show was very successful with over one hundred entries.

Our local paper, the Times Call had a wonderfully written editorial about our Members' Show at The Great Frame Up. The owner of TGFU, Dave Iannazzo, commented this was the best show displaying beautiful pastel artwork.

Jake Gaedtke commented that it was extremely difficult to judge. The quality of work submitted made for difficult judging by our juror Jake Gaedtke. He claimed this was one of the most difficult shows he has juried! I'm also told several pieces have sold!

Many thanks to all those who stepped forward to make this show possible. Congratulations to all you wonderful pastel artists who participated.

— Diane Wood & Sally Davidson-Marovich
