MILE HIGH NATIONAL 2010 EXHIBITION
Announcing exhibition dates for the 6th Annual Mile High National Exhibition sponsored by the Pastel Society of Colorado.
The show is September 3-25, 2010, at the Western Colorado Center for the Arts, 1803 N. 7th Street Grand Junction CO 81501.
Our juror this year is Sally Strand. She has been exhibiting professionally as an artist for over 30 years. She teaches workshops and master classes nationally and internationally. Ms. Strand was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007, the highest commendation of the Pastel Society of America. Among many top awards and honors, she received the PSA Master Pastelist distinction 1997.
Ms. Strand will be conducting two identical three-day workshops focusing on color and light: September 3-5 (full) and 6-8, 2010 at the Western Colorado Center for the Arts in Grand Junction. The cost for each workshop is $400 for PSC members and $425 for non-members. For additional information contact Penny Creasy at 970-256-9584 or pencreasy@bresnan.net.

The 2010 Members Show will be a collaborative effort with Downtown Aurora Visual Arts (DAVA), a not-for-profit whose mission is to strengthen the Aurora community through the visual arts with 7-17 year old children as their primary focus. PSC will be teaching the DAVA youth about pastels, and then will jointly show our work with the work of the students.
The DAVA kids will be focusing on the following themes in 2010: Economy, Technology, Habitat, Health, Education, Environment, and Energy. If you wish to also gear your entries toward one of these topics, it would make for a very cohesive show. The only restriction -- as this is a family friendly show, no nudes will be allowed.
The show will hang from May 7 through May 28. The opening reception (including the kids and their parents) will be held on May 14th, in conjunction with the East End Arts District's 2nd Friday Artwalk. |

Another Paint-in with the Colorado Chamber Players Sunday, Feb. 7, 10AM to 12:30PM For those of you who were unable to attend last Sunday's paint-in with the Colorado Chamber Players (or who did attend and want to go back for more!), we have been given another opportunity to sketch with them at their next rehearsal. They will be rehearsing on Sunday, Feb. 7, at the home studio of another of their members, this time up north in Erie. Six of us are welcome to come sketch with the Players.
